What to expect
An unpaved, uneven track with a mix of uphill and downhill sections that will test fitness and balance. Underfoot conditions vary depending on recent weather — expect muddy patches after rain, firmer footing in dry periods. Gradient changes are consistent and moderately steep in places. Tree cover from South-West forest provides patchy shade, but exposed sections mean sun exposure is likely. Track signposting should be adequate but walkers need to stay alert.
Good to know
Carry plenty of water and wear sturdy, grippy walking boots with good ankle support. Avoid summer months (December–February) due to heat and bushfire risk. Spring brings wildflowers and ideal temperatures. The track can be slippery after rain, so check local conditions first. Start early to make full use of daylight.
