What to expect
Uneven forest floor with roots, rocks and variable gradient. Sections are steep and require steady footwork; others are gentler. Tree cover provides intermittent shade but exposure varies. The track should be signposted, though waymarking may be basic in places. Expect mud or loose gravel after rain.
Good to know
Carry 1.5–2 L water; there are no reliable sources on track. Wear sturdy boots with good ankle support and grip. Avoid summer (December–February) when heat and bushfire risk peak. Spring wildflowers and cooler autumn to winter offer best conditions. Check track status before heading out.
