Well-suited to walkers and cyclists alike, it's a straightforward outing that takes about 45 minutes and offers good exposure to the Cape region's distinctive landscape without serious elevation gain.
Highlights
- Asphalt surface suitable for walkers and cyclists
- Southern Ocean views across granite-backed cove
- Coastal heath and native vegetation
- Easy 45-minute loop from Albany
- Moderate grade, accessible year-round
What to expect
Flat to gently rolling asphalt underfoot with good sight lines along the coast. The path is well-maintained and clearly marked. Expect open, exposed sections with little shade—wind and sun are typical features of the Southern Ocean coast. Signposting should be clear at the trailhead and key junctions.
Good to know
- Open to cyclists
- Firm/surfaced — more accessible going
Carry water, especially in warmer months. The exposed coastal setting means sun and wind exposure; hat and sunscreen are essential. Summer (Dec–Feb) brings heat and bushfire risk—check conditions before visiting. Spring wildflower season (Aug–Oct) is excellent. Suitable for all fitness levels.
