- Flat sand surface, minimal climbing
- Suitable for families and casual walkers
- Close to Perth, easy car-park access
What to expect
A straightforward walk on soft sand through coastal vegetation typical of Perth's heathland. The track is flat with no steep sections. Expect some exposure to sun and wind; tree shade is minimal across the open heathland. The sand surface can be firm in places but soft in others, so sturdy shoes help. Basic signposting marks the route.
Good to know
Carry water despite the short distance—sand reflects heat and dehydrates quickly. Avoid midday in summer when the heathland offers little shelter and temperatures climb. Spring (August–October) is best for cooler conditions and wildflowers. Dogs are often restricted in natural areas near Perth; check local rules before bringing pets.
