Carry plenty of water—55 km is substantial and the route is largely exposed. Start early to avoid midday heat, especially in warmer months. Summer heat and bushfire risk may affect access; check conditions before riding. Suitable for road or hybrid bikes with good tyres. Best ridden in cooler months (April–September) or early morning year-round.
