What to expect
Underfoot is mostly soft sand, with a gentle to moderate gradient as you climb toward the summit. The track should be easy to follow and signposted. Exposure is likely; there's little tree cover on a sandy hillside, so you'll be open to sun and wind.
Good to know
Carry water, especially in warmer months. Albany can be windy; a hat and sunscreen are wise. The sandy surface can shift, so sturdy walking shoes with good grip help. Spring (Aug–Oct) offers pleasant temperatures; summer heat combined with exposed terrain makes early or late starts preferable.
