Bluff Knoll Trail

Bluff Knoll is a moderate 3.1 km bushwalk near Mount Barker offering granite peak views across the Stirling Range. The trail climbs steadily to a rocky summit lookout, rewarding walkers with views of surrounding karri and marri forest and distant southern landscape. A popular destination for a morning or early-afternoon walk.

What to expect
A well-marked footpath climbing steadily over rock and packed earth, with increasing gradient toward the summit. Sections are rocky underfoot; good boots recommended. Partial tree shade in lower sections, more exposed on the upper slopes. Trail is clearly signposted and suitable for most walkers with reasonable fitness.
Good to know
Carry water—no reliable sources on-trail. Summer heat and bushfire risk make cooler months (April–October) safer. Spring offers wildflowers and mild conditions. The final approach is steep and rocky; ensure proper footwear. Check conditions before visiting in fire season.
