What to expect
Firm earth underfoot, gently rolling terrain with modest elevation changes. The track is well-established and should be straightforward to follow. Shade is sparse in semi-arid country, so the walk is mostly exposed to sun. Views open across low scrub and scattered trees typical of the Goldfields. Conditions underfoot are generally dry, but can be muddy after rain.
Good to know
Carry at least 1.5–2 litres of water; the Goldfields can be hot and dry, especially October to April. Wear sun protection and sturdy walking boots. Autumn, winter and spring (April–September) are most comfortable. Avoid summer bushfire season. No shade means early morning or late afternoon walks are preferable in warmer months.
