What to expect
A defined track climbing through dappled forest on mostly natural surface—dirt and leaf litter with occasional rocky sections underfoot. Steady uphill gradient becomes gentler near the lookout. Shade from forest canopy for much of the walk; some open sections near the lake. Well-signposted and easy to follow.
Good to know
Carry 500 ml water minimum; summer heat and sun exposure on open sections warrant a hat and sun protection. Spring wildflowers brighten the understory. Avoid during high bushfire danger days (Dec–Feb). Closed shoes recommended. Dogs often prohibited on nature reserve tracks—check locally.
