What to expect
A generally clear forest track through typical South-West woodland, with gentle to moderate grades. The path is underfoot a mix of packed earth and leaf litter; footing is mostly stable. Dappled shade from tall trees along most of the route, though some open sections expose you to sun. Signposting is standard; stay aware of track markers.
Good to know
Carry at least 1–2 litres of water; forest shade helps but South-West heat can build. Spring wildflowers (Aug–Oct) enhance the walk. In summer, check fire danger; avoid walking on total fire ban days. Wear sturdy walking boots for grip on forest floor. Dogs often aren't permitted; check local regulations beforehand.
