Thornlie-Cockburn Link PSP
About this cycle path
The Thornlie–Cockburn Link is a short, flat shared path connecting two suburbs south of Perth. At 2.2 km, it's ideal for a quick local ride, commute or family outing on sealed surface. The route links into the broader network of Perth's riverside and rail-corridor paths, making it useful for longer loops around the Armadale area.
Highlights
- Flat, sealed asphalt throughout
- Quick 10-minute ride, easy entry point
- Connects to wider PSP network
- Suitable for families and casual cyclists
- Local commute option
What to expect
Smooth asphalt surface with minimal gradient. The path is well-formed and easy to ride, passing through suburban areas with generally mixed sun and shade. Signposting follows standard Perth PSP markers. Light foot and cycle traffic typical of local connecting paths.
Good to know
- Open to cyclists
- Firm/surfaced — more accessible going
Carry water on warm days; Perth summers are hot and offer little natural shade on open sections. Wear a helmet and check your bike brakes before riding. Spring wildflowers (Aug–Oct) brighten the verges. This is a urban PSP; dogs on-lead are usually welcome, but check local council rules.
