What to expect
Well-defined track through mixed South-West forest on mostly level to gently rolling terrain. Underfoot conditions vary with seasonal rainfall—expect some softer sections and occasional drainage lines after wet weather. The track is generally signposted and shaded by tall timber, though some sections receive dappled light. Footing is reliable for sturdy walking boots.

Carry at least 1.5 litres of water; there are no reliable water sources on the track. Spring (August–October) brings wildflowers and pleasant temperatures. In summer, start early to avoid heat. Check local conditions before visiting, especially in fire season (November–April). Dogs are typically not permitted on national park and conservation reserve trails.
