What to expect
Unpaved ground including sandy sections, loose gravel and possibly rocky stretches typical of Perth's northern bushland. Challenging gradient changes throughout the route. Expect mixed shade from low scrub and scattered trees; some sections are open and exposed. The trail should be clearly marked, though conditions vary. Bring sturdy footwear or appropriate bike tyres for loose surfaces.
Good to know
- Open to cyclists
Carry at least 2 litres of water; there are no guaranteed water sources along the route. Avoid walking or riding in summer heat (Nov–Feb) due to bushfire risk and heat exposure. Spring wildflowers (Aug–Oct) make for pleasant walking. Start early to finish before dark. Check conditions after rain, as unpaved trails can become boggy or slippery.
