Karri Walk Trail
About this footpath
The Karri Walk Trail is a straightforward 1.4 km walk through tall karri forest near Denmark. The short distance and easy grade make it ideal for families or anyone after a gentle stroll among some of Western Australia's most impressive native trees. The dirt track winds through shaded forest, offering a taste of South-West timber country without committing to a longer hike.
Highlights
- Tall karri forest canopy overhead
- Flat, easy 20-minute walk
- Accessible for families and most fitness levels
- Shaded bushwalk through native woodland
What to expect
A well-formed dirt path through karri forest, mostly level and easy underfoot. The canopy provides good shade throughout. Signposting should be clear, though it's a short loop so navigation is straightforward. Minimal elevation gain means a relaxed pace suits most walkers.
Good to know
Carry water even on short walks, especially in warmer months. Wear sturdy footwear with grip suitable for dirt. Spring (August–October) is pleasant; summer heat and bushfire risk make that season less ideal. Check local conditions before visiting, particularly during fire season.
