- Dirt surface through foothills bushland
- Moderate gradient and technical interest
- Close to Kalamunda shops and facilities
- Accessible for a 15-minute ride or longer exploration
What to expect
Mostly dirt track with moderate gradient variation typical of the Kalamunda foothills. Sections may be root-strewn and rutted, especially after rain. Tree cover from jarrah and marri provides partial shade, but some open stretches expose you to sun and wind. Signposting guides the circuit clearly. Expect firm to loose surfaces depending on recent weather.
Good to know
- Open to cyclists
Carry water, especially in summer heat. Wear appropriate cycling shoes and helmet. Spring wildflowers brighten the understory August–October. Avoid midday rides in December–February due to heat and bushfire risk. The loop suits hardtail or gravel bikes; full suspension helps on rougher sections. Dogs are generally welcome on cycle paths but check local rules.
