Murchison River Foreshore path
About this cycle path
A short, flat asphalt cycle path hugging the Murchison River foreshore at Kalbarri. The 1.1 km route offers easy pedalling with river views and is ideal for families, a quick spin or a warm-up before exploring the wider gorge country. Well-suited to casual riders of all ages.
Highlights
- Flat asphalt surface, easy pace for families
- Murchison River views along the foreshore
- Quick 5-minute loop or starting point for longer rides
- Close to Kalbarri town centre and facilities
What to expect
Sealed, level asphalt the whole way with minimal gradient. The path runs close to the river, so expect pleasant water views and the occasional breeze. Signposting is generally clear in town. Shade depends on time of day and vegetation density along the foreshore; summer sun can be intense, so plan for early or late riding.
Good to know
- Open to cyclists
- Firm/surfaced — more accessible going
Carry water, especially in warm months; Kalbarri summers are hot and dry. The path is exposed in places, so hat and sunscreen are essential. Winter (June–August) and spring are most comfortable for cycling. Check conditions after heavy rain. Suitable for hybrid or road bikes on smooth asphalt.
