Carry 2+ litres of water; there are no reliable water sources along the route. Wear sturdy, gripped footwear or appropriate bike shoes for gravel. Avoid summer months (December–February) due to heat and bushfire risk. Spring wildflowers brighten the open sections. Horses have priority on shared tracks; yield if encountered. Check local conditions before setting out—heavy rain can make gravel slippery.
