What to expect

Good to know
Carry 2+ litres of water; there are no reliable sources along the route. Wear sturdy walking or MTB shoes with good grip. Avoid summer heat and bushfire season (Nov–Apr). Best walked or ridden March–May or August–October. Check local conditions before setting out; the exposed ridge can be unpleasant in strong wind.
