Flat Rock Road is a 5.4 km unpaved track near Mundaring offering a moderate walk through forest in around 1 hour 15 minutes. What to expect
Compacted earth and gravel underfoot, generally flat to gently rolling gradient. The track is well-formed and easy to follow through jarrah and marri forest typical of the Darling Range. Expect mixed shade from tree cover; some open sections may be exposed to sun. No significant climbs or descents; suitable for steady walkers.
Good to know
Carry at least 1–2 litres of water. Wear sturdy walking shoes or boots for unpaved ground. In summer (Dec–Feb), start early to avoid heat and check local bushfire danger. Spring wildflowers bloom Aug–Oct. No facilities en route; plan accordingly.
