What to expect
Uneven unpaved track with variable gradient—expect climbs and descents that demand steady effort. Surface will be firm dirt, potentially rough underfoot after rain. Tree cover provides some shade through the forest, though exposure increases in clearings. Navigation is straightforward but confirm signposting before departure.
Good to know
Carry 1.5–2 litres of water; no facilities mid-track. Wear sturdy walking or riding shoes with good grip. Avoid summer (Dec–Feb) due to heat and bushfire risk. Spring wildflowers brighten the forest. Dogs often not permitted in nearby reserves—check local rules. Best April–September.
