What to expect
Uneven, rocky unpaved surface with roots and loose gravel throughout. Steady climbs and descents with stretches of steeper gradient make this a physically demanding walk or ride. Expect minimal shade in exposed sections; jarrah and marri forest provide cover in places. Track condition varies with weather; recently wet conditions can make sections slippery.
Good to know
Carry plenty of water—at least 2 litres. Wear sturdy, supportive footwear or use a capable bike suited to rough tracks. Spring (Aug–Oct) is pleasant; avoid summer heat. Check conditions after rain as the unpaved surface becomes muddy and treacherous. No facilities at the trailhead.
