Reservoir Road
About this track
Reservoir Road is a challenging 7.6 km track near Mundaring that takes around 1 hour 45 minutes to complete. This is a serious walk through varied terrain with significant elevation gain, best suited to experienced bushwalkers with good fitness. The route rewards effort with remote forest country characteristic of the Perth hills.

What to expect
Steep sections and sustained climbing dominate this track. Terrain is rocky and uneven underfoot in places, with dense bushland providing patchy shade. The track is signposted but requires good navigation skills and attention. Expect muddy patches after rain and rough ground throughout—proper boots essential.
Good to know
Carry 2–3 litres of water; there are no reliable sources along the route. Start early to finish before dusk. Avoid summer (December–February) due to heat and bushfire risk. Dogs are generally not permitted on walking tracks in conservation areas. Wear sturdy, broken-in bushwalking boots and bring sun protection.
