What to expect
A steady walk on unpaved track through native bushland typical of the Mundaring area — jarrah and marri forest with mixed undergrowth. Terrain is generally even with gentle grades; the track should be reasonably well-formed and signed. Expect patches of shade from the forest canopy, though some sections may be more open. Surface can be uneven in places after rain.
Good to know
Carry at least one litre of water per person. Wear sturdy walking shoes or boots for unpaved ground. Check for bushfire risk during summer months (December–February) and avoid walking on days of high fire danger. Spring (August–October) offers the best conditions and wildflower displays. No dogs are permitted in most bushland reserves in the area.
