Good to know
Carry at least 2 litres of water; creeks are unreliable. Wear sturdy, ankle-supporting boots with good grip. Start early to finish before dusk. In summer (Dec–Feb), heat and bushfire risk are significant—check fire danger ratings beforehand. Spring wildflowers brighten the forest. Dogs are typically not permitted on forest tracks; check local restrictions.
