Good to know
Carry at least 2 litres of water; there are no facilities mid-route. Wear sturdy walking boots or mountain bike shoes suited to rough gravel. Start early to finish before dark. Avoid summer (Dec–Feb) due to heat and bushfire risk. Spring wildflowers (Aug–Oct) are a bonus. Check local conditions and recent weather before heading out.
