What to expect
Uneven unpaved track with tree roots, rocks and potential mud, especially after wet weather. Gradient varies through undulating forest; some steep sections likely. Minimal shade in open areas; denser canopy under tall karri. Track may be poorly signposted in places—navigation skill and a map or GPS helpful. Allow extra time for rough footing.
Good to know
Carry at least 2 litres of water and sun protection. Wear sturdy, closed walking boots with good grip. Check conditions before setting out—mud can worsen the track significantly. Best walked in cooler months (April–October). Summer brings heat and bushfire risk. Start early to finish before dark.
