What to expect

Tree cover varies; some sections offer shade under jarrah and karri, others are more open. Signposting may be minimal; navigation skills and attention to the track line are essential. Suitable for experienced walkers and competent cyclists with off-road capability.

Carry plenty of water; there are no facilities mid-route. South-West summers are hot and dry—avoid peak heat. Wear sturdy, supportive footwear or proper off-road bike shoes. Check conditions after heavy rain, as the dirt surface can become boggy. Not recommended in summer due to bushfire risk. Spring wildflowers can be striking if conditions allow.
