Bamess Road is a moderate 3.6 km gravel track near Pemberton, walkable in about 50 minutes. What to expect
Even gravel underfoot with occasional rocky sections and modest rises. The track winds through open forest with dappled shade from tall eucalypts; exposed sections in mid-afternoon sun. Signposting is standard. Gradient is gentle overall, with no steep climbs or descents.
Good to know
Carry 1–2 litres of water; no reliable sources on-track. Summer (Dec–Feb) brings heat and bushfire risk—check local conditions. Wear sturdy walking shoes for uneven gravel. Spring is ideal. Dogs are often prohibited in conservation areas near Pemberton; check before you go.
