Benghazi Road
About this track
Benghazi Road is a challenging 7.2 km unpaved track near Pemberton, taking around 90 minutes to walk. The route traverses rough, uneven terrain typical of the South-West's forest country—expect jarrah and marri woodland with rocky sections underfoot. This is a serious walk for experienced bushwalkers with good fitness; the unpaved surface and distance demand sturdy footwear and careful footing.

What to expect
Rough, rocky unpaved track with tree roots and stones throughout. Terrain is uneven with some steep sections; footing requires concentration and ankle support. Woodland canopy provides dappled shade but many exposed sections. Track is less manicured than popular day walks; expect minimal formal signposting. Boots with ankle support essential; slow pace required on loose ground.
Good to know
Carry at least 2 litres of water per person. Sturdy boots with good grip are non-negotiable on this surface. Summer (Dec–Feb) brings heat and bushfire risk—best walked March–November. Check local conditions before heading out. Not suitable for children or inexperienced walkers. Mobile service may be limited in the forest.
