What to expect
Uneven gravel surface with rocky sections underfoot; consistent climbing and descent that builds fitness. Exposure to sun and wind in open patches, with dappled shade under jarrah and marri woodland. Track is generally signposted but remote—navigation skills help. Footing is unforgiving when wet.
Good to know
Carry 1.5–2 litres of water; there are no facilities along the route. Summer heat makes this walk hard going; autumn to spring is far more comfortable. Wear sturdy, well-gripped boots. Mobile reception may be patchy. Check local conditions before heading out, especially after rain.
