What to expect
Unpaved forest track with variable surfaces—packed earth, roots and occasional rocky sections. Gradient is moderately steep in places, especially mid-route. Signposting is standard; mark your map and stay alert at junctions. Shade is abundant under karri and jarrah canopy. Exposed sections feel warmer; bring hat and sunscreen regardless.
Good to know
Carry at least 1.5–2 litres of water; no reliable supply on track. Wear sturdy walking boots for grip and ankle support on uneven ground. Avoid summer (December–February) due to heat and bushfire risk. Spring (August–October) offers wildflowers and coolest conditions. Check fire restrictions before departure. No dogs in national parks or reserves.
