Collins Road
About this track
Collins Road is an 11 km challenging gravel track near Pemberton that rewards steady effort with access to some of the South-West's best forest country. The route traverses karri and marri woodland on rough gravel surface, gaining elevation in places. It suits experienced walkers comfortable with uneven ground and navigation. Allow two and a half hours for the full distance.

What to expect
Uneven, rocky gravel underfoot with variable gradient — some gentle stretches, steeper sections that demand effort. The track winds through dense South-West forest with good shade from tall trees. Signposting may be basic; navigation skills and a map are worthwhile. The surface can be muddy after rain and loose in places.
Good to know
Carry at least 2 litres of water; there are no services on the track. Wear sturdy, well-gripping walking boots for the rough gravel. Spring (August–October) is ideal for comfort and wildflowers. Avoid summer due to heat and bushfire risk. Check conditions locally before heading out.
