What to expect
Rough, uneven gravel underfoot with significant climbs and descents. The track is exposed in places with limited shade, typical of forest walking in the Pemberton area. Signposting may be minimal; navigation skills or a map are useful. Expect muddy patches after rain and roots across the path. Not a manicured walk.
Good to know
Carry at least 2 litres of water and sun protection. Wear sturdy, ankle-supporting footwear — the rough gravel and steep grades demand good grip. Spring (August–October) offers cooler temperatures and wildflower colour. In summer, start early to avoid heat and carry extra water. Check local conditions before setting out.
