What to expect
Mostly level terrain with granite underfoot and short, gentle stretches. The path is well-signposted and straightforward. Expect open, exposed sections with minimal shade — the granite and coastal heath offer little shelter from wind or sun.
Good to know
Carry water, especially on hot days; Rottnest Island summers are warm and dry. Wear sturdy shoes for rocky sections. Spring (Aug–Oct) is pleasant for walking. Pets are not permitted on most Rottnest trails. Check tide times before visiting if you plan to explore rock pools nearby.
