About this footpath
Lost Valley Road is a short, easy 1.4 km footpath near Collie through bushland on dirt surface. The walk takes around 20 minutes and suits those after a quick stroll in native forest. Note that the track is heavily overgrown, so expect vegetation encroaching on the path and be prepared for slower progress than the time estimate suggests.
Highlights
- Quick walk through native bushland near Collie
- Dirt track through mixed forest
- Overgrown character adds quietness
- Suitable for families seeking short outing
What to expect
Narrow dirt path winding through bushland with dense vegetation on either side. The overgrown nature means scrub and branches may brush the sides of the trail. Relatively flat with no steep sections. Shade from surrounding forest. Track may be muddy in wet periods; walking boots or sturdy shoes recommended. Signposting limited given the remote, overgrown feel.
Good to know
Carry water despite the short distance and warm WA climate. In summer, watch for bushfire risk and check conditions before visiting. Wear long sleeves to protect from scrub. Best walked in cooler months (autumn to spring). Allow extra time if clearing your own path through vegetation.
