Highlights
- 11 km unpaved off-road cycle route
- Challenging technical terrain for experienced riders
- Sustained ride through South-West forest country
- Around 45 minutes of active pedalling
- True mountain bike test of skill and fitness
What to expect
Unpaved ground with likely roots, rocks and rutted sections characteristic of off-road forest trails. Expect variable gradient and sustained climbing; this is a challenging route, not a gentle cruise. Signposting may be minimal on technical trails, so carry a map or GPS. Shade from surrounding trees, but exposed sections are possible. Conditions vary with recent rain and seasonal wear.
Good to know
- Open to cyclists
Full-suspension or hardtail mountain bike essential—not suitable for road bikes. Wear helmet and protective gear. Carry water and snacks; Collie is the nearest resupply. Best ridden in cooler months (autumn, winter, spring); avoid summer heat and bushfire risk. Check local trail conditions before riding; wet weather makes unpaved terrain slippery and rutted.
