Orchid Road

Orchid Road is a 4.4 km moderate bushwalk near Pemberton through mixed forest typical of the South-West. The unpaved track offers a solid half-hour return outing through jarrah and marri woodland. It's a good choice for walkers wanting a moderately paced walk away from town without committing to a full-day hike.

What to expect
Well-defined unpaved track with gentle to moderate gradient through native forest. Sections may be rocky or rooted underfoot; footing varies with recent weather. Dappled shade from canopy for much of the route, though some open patches. Track should be clearly marked; allow extra time if signposting is worn.
Good to know
Carry at least 1 litre of water. Wear sturdy walking boots for uneven ground. Spring (Aug–Oct) is best for wildflowers and cooler conditions. Avoid walks during high-risk bushfire days (November–March); check fire danger before setting out. Dogs not permitted in national parks; check local restrictions.
