Overgrown Track
About this track
The Overgrown Track near Collie is a challenging 12 km walk through dense bushland, suited to experienced walkers with good fitness. The route traverses hilly terrain through native forest and scrub typical of the South-West's higher country, offering solitude and a genuine off-track feel. Allow nearly three hours to complete the full distance at a steady pace.

What to expect
Uneven, root-laced ground with frequent climbs and descents through closed-canopy forest. Sections may be overgrown or less distinct; confident navigation and map-reading are needed. Canopy provides good shade but visibility can be limited. The track is moderately signposted; stay alert to markers. Expect muddy patches after rain.
Good to know
Carry at least 1.5 litres of water and a map. Wear sturdy boots with good ankle support. Spring (August–October) offers wildflowers and cooler conditions; avoid December–February heat. Check for bushfire bans in summer. Mobile signal may be limited; let someone know your plans. Not recommended for novice walkers.
