Good to know
Carry 2–3 litres of water; no reliable sources on route. Wear sturdy boots with good grip. Start early to finish before dark. Check conditions after heavy rain. Spring (Aug–Oct) offers wildflowers but expect mud. Summer heat and bushfire risk make winter–spring the better season. Tell someone your plans.
