What to expect
Unpaved surface with ruts, rocks, creek crossings and soft patches. Gradient varies; expect steep pitches and uneven ground throughout. Good to know
Vehicle recovery gear and spares essential; drive with others when possible. Carry water and snacks. Check conditions after heavy rain—track may be impassable. Summer heat and bushfire risk mean avoid December–February. Tyre pressure adjustment and high-clearance 4WD mandatory. Mobile service unreliable; plan accordingly.
