What to expect
Uneven forest floor with roots, rocks and possible mud near water crossings. Gradual to steep sections; expect sustained climbing and descending. Dappled shade under tall timber, but some open patches. Track is signposted but requires attention—navigation is straightforward if you stay alert.
Good to know
Carry plenty of water; South-West heat and forest exertion combine quickly. Wear sturdy boots with good grip for uneven ground. Spring (Aug–Oct) offers pleasant temperatures and wildflowers. Check fire danger in summer months. Dogs are not permitted in national parks and many reserves.
