What to expect
Gravel surface with loose stones and uneven patches; expect genuine climbing and descending rather than a flat walk. The track is signposted but remote—navigation confidence helps. Shade is variable; you'll move between open sections and denser forest. Gradients are noticeable and sustained in places, making this a proper workout rather than a casual stroll.
Good to know
Carry at least 2 litres of water; no reliable sources on track. Wear sturdy walking boots with good ankle support. Spring (Aug–Oct) offers mild weather and wildflowers; summer heat and bushfire risk make this less ideal. Check conditions locally before setting out. Start early to complete in daylight.
