What to expect
An unpaved forest track with gentle to moderate grades. Underfoot conditions are typical of the South-West—expect tree roots, rocks and packed earth. The canopy of jarrah and marri offers patches of shade, though the track has open sections. Signposting should guide you; stay alert at junctions. The ground is often softer after rain.
Good to know
Wear sturdy walking boots for grip on uneven ground. Carry at least one litre of water; the forest offers little relief from heat on warm days. Spring (Aug–Oct) is pleasant; summer heat and bushfire risk make early morning or winter preferable. Check local conditions before you go, especially in fire season.
