Sika Trail

The Sika Trail is a challenging 9.3 km footpath near Collie that takes walkers and mountain bikers through diverse forest terrain. The route winds through jarrah and marri woodland typical of the South-West, offering a solid half-day outing for those with reasonable fitness. Allow two hours for the full circuit and expect elevation changes and technical sections that justify the challenging grade.

What to expect
Uneven forest floor with exposed roots, rocks and moderate to steep climbs. The trail is signposted but demands attention on technical descent and climb sections. Expect mixed sun and dappled shade under the forest canopy, though some open sections may feel exposed in hot weather. Ground surface is typical South-West bush—variable footing throughout.

Carry at least 1–2 litres of water per person; there are no reliable water sources on trail. Summer heat and bushfire risk make autumn and spring preferable. Sturdy, ankle-supporting boots or trail shoes are essential. Collie can be hot and dry; start early. Dogs are often not permitted on walking tracks in this region—check locally.
