Sika Trail
About this walking route
The Sika Trail is a challenging 10 km walk near Collie, best suited to experienced bushwalkers. The route takes around 2 hours 15 minutes and traverses varied terrain typical of the South-West forest region. Signposting is in place throughout, though the demanding gradient and length require solid fitness. Spring wildflowers and tall karri forest are key attractions, though summer heat and bushfire risk make cooler months preferable.

What to expect
A steep, undulating walk over forest floor with sections of exposed root and uneven ground. The challenging difficulty means sustained climbs and descents; bring solid leg strength. Track is signposted but narrow in places; expect full forest shade and dappled light. Some sections may be muddy after rain. Wear sturdy, well-gripped walking boots.

Carry 2–3 litres of water; there are no reliable water sources on trail. Summer (Dec–Feb) brings extreme heat and bushfire risk—avoid or check conditions first. Spring (Aug–Oct) offers wildflowers and cooler weather. Allow 2 hours 15 minutes or more. Start early; finish before dusk. Mobile coverage may be patchy.
