Strachan Road is a challenging 14 km track near Collie suitable for experienced walkers and mountain bikers. The route traverses varied terrain typical of the South-West forests, with moderate elevation changes and solid stretches that reward fitness and navigation skills. What to expect
Uneven track surface with roots, rocks and soft sections common in South-West forest. Moderate to steep gradient in places; exposed ridges alternate with shaded forest. Basic signposting; good map and navigation sense useful. Some stretches fully shaded, others open to weather.

Carry at least two litres of water; no reliable sources on track. Wear sturdy footwear or appropriate bike shoes. Avoid December–February (heat and bushfire risk).
