Tinkers Road is a challenging 7.2 km unpaved track near Pemberton in the South-West, suitable for experienced walkers and mountain bikers. The route winds through jarrah and marri forest typical of the region, with uneven terrain and climbs that demand good fitness and footwear. Allow 1.5 hours for the walk; riders may move faster on suitable bikes.

What to expect
Rough, unpaved track with exposed roots, rocks and ruts. Gradient is variable with several climbs; not heavily graded. Partial shade from forest canopy but some open sections. Signposting may be basic on this remote track—carry a map or GPS. Underfoot is sandy loam and compacted earth, often loose after rain.
Good to know
Carry at least 2 litres of water; no reliable sources on track. Wear sturdy hiking boots or trail shoes with good grip. Summer heat and bushfire risk make autumn and spring preferable. Check local conditions before visiting. Suitable for mountain bikes with adequate suspension. Best done in cooler months (March–May, August–October).
