What to expect
A well-graded gravel track that follows the old tramway alignment through tall karri and jarrah forest. Mostly gentle, rolling terrain with minimal steep sections. The track is generally signposted and easy to follow. Good shade from the forest canopy for much of the route, though some open sections are exposed to sun.
Good to know
Carry water, especially in warmer months—South-West summers are hot and dry. Wear sturdy walking shoes with grip for gravel. Spring (Aug–Oct) is pleasant and brings wildflowers. Avoid walking during high bushfire risk days in summer. The track is popular but quiet; allow time to enjoy the forest.
