What to expect
Uneven forest floor with roots, rocks and fallen timber. Sustained uphill and downhill sections make this a genuine cardiovascular challenge. Track is marked but navigating the terrain demands concentration and careful footfall. Limited shade from overhead canopy; exposed to sun in open sections. Mud and wet patches likely after rain.
Good to know
Carry 2+ litres of water—no reliable sources on track. Wear sturdy, broken-in boots with good ankle support and grip. Avoid summer months due to heat and bushfire risk. Spring (Aug–Oct) offers wildflowers and cooler conditions. Start early to finish before dark. Not recommended for casual walkers or children.
