What to expect
An unpaved forest track with gentle to moderate gradient. Underfoot you'll find packed earth, leaf litter and possible rocky sections typical of South-West forest floors. Tree cover provides dappled shade for much of the walk. The track should be signposted at the trailhead. Expect some exposure to sun in clearings; wear sturdy walking shoes for traction on loose ground.
Good to know
Carry at least 1.5 litres of water; South-West summers are hot and the forest offers little shade relief. Spring (Aug–Oct) offers wildflowers and mild temperatures. Avoid peak summer (Jan–Mar) due to heat and bushfire risk. Dogs may be restricted depending on reserve management; check locally before visiting.
